Kris Marino comes to Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey with over 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Kris was Chief Operating Officer of Worldwide Orphans Foundation in her previous position and prior to that she worked for several large companies including Procter & Gamble, IE DuPont de Nemours and Merck in their strategic and corporate planning departments.
Kris graduated from Duke University with a BA in economics and later an MBA in management. She believes in giving back to the community by helping others to make a difference
Jayson Daniels is Director of Development at Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey and is responsible for increasing philanthropic funding for and awareness of the programs and services that Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey provides. An experienced development professional, Jayson has helped plan and direct several transformational fundraising efforts in healthcare and higher education.
Prior to Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey, Jayson planned and launched the $150 million Power of Stevens campaign for Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He was responsible for donor cultivation and stewardship, campaign marketing and messaging, branding, relationship development and project management.
Jayson has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Rutgers University and serves on the board of Hub Soccer of Denville.
Elsa Zavoda, MS OTR/L, SCLV, CLVT is the Program Director at Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey and has been a practicing Occupational Therapist since 1997 with extensive clinical experience, serving in a variety of settings. Ms. Zavoda originally graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Ms. Zavoda obtained a Graduate Certificate in Low Vision Rehabilitation from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2007 under the leadership of Mary Warren, MS OTR/L, FAOTA, SCLV. She has served as a teaching assistant, working directly with Ms. Warren. Ms. Zavoda has been concentrating in the field of Low Vision Rehabilitation since 2006. Ms. Zavoda is the 16th Occupational Therapist in the U.S, and the first in NJ to be awarded Specialty Certification in Low Vision (SCLV) from AOTA in January 2010. She also has earned her Certified Low Vision Therapist (CLVT) credential from ACVREP in September 2010. Ms. Zavoda has successfully established and implemented 3 low vision programs in NJ, and practiced at The Low Vision Center of Central NJ. Elsa also serves as the Vision Advisor for OccupationalTherapy.com.
Linda Groszew is the Senior Program Manager at Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey and is responsible for creating, coordinating and supervising all classes. For the past 11 years Linda has worked with the staff to develop programs and services that empowers individuals with vision loss.
Linda studied Music at William Paterson University with a focus in Education. She has raised 5 children, 4 of which are quadruplets, all while owning and operated a small Country Market in Sussex County.
Linda has dedicated her time to her career and to teaching private piano lessons, something she still entertains to this day. Maintaining loyalty to her residence in Denville for over 20 years, Linda has found a community to embrace and a career to nurture with her personal and professional experiences. Her diverse history of caring for others keeps her interest in non-profit work strong and passionate.
Karen joined Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey in 2005, and handles a multitude of responsibilities including book keeping, contract administration, planning and coordinating meetings and general office management.
Prior to working at Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey, Karen worked at AMY Mohawk Transfer and Warwick Data Systems. Karen attended Marquette University in Wisconsin.
Jorge loves to cook and watch sports especially the NY Mets and NY Giants! Jorge is married with one child, and lives in Morristown, NJ.
