Community Education Opportunities
The Community:
We provide free education and share resources with participants at your agency or organization, either in-person or over a virtual platform. This one-hour free educational seminar includes:
“Living with Low Vision– Tips, Strategies, and Simple Inexpensive Solutions”
- Explanation of low vision- typical low vision conditions & how they impact a person’s ability to function
- Simple inexpensive adaptive devices & strategies available to help a person function more independently in their home
- Home safety/fall prevention
- Education on our programs & services available at Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey
Agency & Organization Provider/Staff Education:
We offer free educational opportunities to agencies and organizations to equip providers and staff members with the capacity to identify and refer individuals who may have low vision or vision impairments, and the ability to offer helpful strategies and resources. The presentation content and length can be customized to accommodate the needs of your agency or organization and is available in-person or over a virtual platform. This free educational seminar includes:
“Techniques and Strategies to Identify Individuals Who May Have Vision Impairments or Vision Loss”
- Introduction to Low Vision
- Education in Typical Low Vision Eye Conditions & Their Impact
- Strategies to Identify & Refer Individuals With Low Vision Conditions/Vision Impairments
- Simple Helpful Interventions to Ensure Safety
- Available Resources
